TIBSHELF INFANT & NURSERY SCHOOL

Coronavirus (COVID‑19)

There are three simple actions we must all do to keep on protecting each other Wash hands keep washing your hands regularly Cover face wear a face covering in enclosed spaces Make space stay at least 2 metres apart - or 1 metre with a face covering or other precautions Please be reassured that any information in relation to COVID that you need to be aware of will be shared with you. I am having daily calls from parents/carers asking for advice in relation to symptoms their child is displaying if they are unwell, and if any of these are similar to those specific symptoms in line with the COVID advice I am referring them to their GP or 111 advice line. If you need to get a free NHS test because you are displaying symptoms you should call 119 or go online.

Information

Any positive tests reported will be handled directly in line with the guidance from Public Health England. Schools & colleges have a new number that means they can get in contact with a new department set up specifically to deal with queries from schools. Please be reassured that the health and safety of your children, staff and yourselves are of utmost priority and we are putting everything we can in place in school to ensure everyone is as safe as possible. Some of these measures, if you have not been in school include: Our thermo checker for anyone coming onto the school site via the Garden Area Our hand held temperature checker for staff, children & visitors who come onto the school site through the main front door Requesting parents/carers to wear face coverings when on the school site A one way system at the start and end of the school day for entering and leaving the site Rigorous hand washing before entering/just after entering the school building for all children – additional hand washing stations have been purchased and are sited outside the FS2 gate, outside the playground doors and in the hall Ongoing handwashing throughout the day for all children and staff Constant reminders to children in relation to hand hygiene after sneezing, coughing etc. Hand sanitising for all staff and visitors coming in through the main front door, or who enter the building from the back carpark Ongoing cleaning of indoor and outdoor equipment during the school day by the children and staff Lots of opportunities for outdoor learning and play Rigorous cleaning at the end of every school day – additional care being paid to chairs, tables, door handles, hand rails etc. There is lots of advice for you to access on the Gov.uk website and there are some flyers in the porta cabin as you come into school.
