Welcome to KS1

In Key Stage One our teachers are Miss Rose-Hall, Mrs. Austin, Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Butler. There are three mixed year one and two classes - Puffins, Toucans and Flamingos. We are supported by a fantastic team of teaching assistants, these are Tracey, Gemma, Mrs Wright, Miss Ryder, Sue, Annie, Ami and Zoe.

>Our children in Key Stage have a busy and fun filled timetable including daily Phonics, Mathematics and English lessons and a wide range of cross curricular lessons to ensure the National Curriculum requirements are delivered in a motivating and engaging way that promotes challenge, resilience and application of skills.

Every day the children have access to the indoor and outdoor areas which are carefully planned to implement all of the National Curriculum whilst giving our Key Stage One children opportunities to access continuous provision. At Tibshelf Infant and Nursery School we value the importance of play throughout Key Stage One and therefore encourage our children to learn through play whenever possible.

This year our topic areas have been chosen carefully based on what we think will be of interest to the children to promote a lifelong love of learning, and fostering and nurturing both inquisitiveness and curiosity about the world. We are fortunate enough to be part of a community, and based in a location that allows us the opportunity to enhance their cultural capital through experiential learning. We enjoy weekly visits to the allotment and termly walks around the village. We welcome visitors to the school such as musicians, authors, emergency services, athletes and community leaders.

We pride ourselves in providing an inclusive environment in which all children are treated equally and can achieve their full potential.
