Welcome to Foundation Stage 1 - our Nursery. Our Duckling class welcomes the youngest Foundation Stage children from 3 years old.  The Duckling Class Teachers are Mrs. Nicola Moody and Mrs. Rebecca Badhams. The Nursery Teaching Assistant is Zoe Armstrong. Sue also works in the nursery every afternoon..

Throughout our Foundation Stage we plan and support the seven areas of learning outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage document. The three prime areas cover Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Communication & Language and Physical Development. The four specific areas cover development in Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts & Design.

Age appropriate, personalised objectives are set out for all children and our well structured, fun and stimulating learning opportunities, give every child the chance to learn through play. Our friendly, experienced staff use a rage of proven strategies to incorporate a balance of child initiated explorations and teacher led activities. We feel that carefully planned learning and play is the key to the success of all of our children.

All children have the opportunity to experience learning indoors and outside. We provide an extensive range of good quality play resources  to support every child to think and learn creatively and flexibly. Through play and exploration, children's ideas are developed, links are made with previous learning, challenges are created and children achieve and make progress.

The happiness and well being of our children always comes first. The children develop a good understanding for safety and are give positive encouragement to play co-operatively and respectively. This is supported further by the close relationship we develop with our parents.

We take the time to share children's achievements and keep parents well informed about all aspects of their child's learning and development.

We have a happy and successful nursery and we look forward to welcoming you and your children to our setting.
